Internship
This plant inspection course articulates a Carolinian chemical engineer’s professional contribution in addressing contemporary issues, and acquire knowledge on specific aspects of chemical engineering practice through plant visits.

List of plants visited: Mandaue Compressed Gases Corporation (MCGC), Profood International Corporation, Mactan Economic Zone 1 - Wastewater Treatment Sewage Plant, Apo Cement Corporation, Global Business Power Corporation, Froilanchem Corporation
The internship is intended to close the gap between academic knowledge and actual professional practice of chemical engineering in local process industries and related institutions.

Host Training: Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Environmental Management Bureau 7
Key responsibilities:
• Conduct field visits and site inspections to verify compliance with environmental regulations.
• Monitoring of compliance of industries in RA 9275: Clean Water Act, RA 8749: Clean Air Act, RA 6969: Toxic Substances and Hazardous and Nuclear Wastes Control Act, PD 1586: Philippine Environmental Impact Statement System, and other environmental laws through integrated compliance reports.
• Perform a laboratory analysis on industrial and ambient water samples, including tests for dissolved oxygen, 5-day biochemical oxygen demand, total suspended solids, pH, temperature, color, phosphates, ammonia, chlorides, sulfates, nitrates, fecal coliform, oil and grease, and mercury levels.
• Update equipment calibration, quality control forms, housekeeping checklists, fire extinguisher inspection forms, glasswares inventory, waste inventory, and chemical reagent inventory.
